Nominal

There are four measurement scales (or types of data) to categorize different types of variables: nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio.

Nominal scales are used for labeling variables, with properties “=” and “≠”. For example, nationality (Chinese, Portuguese, etc) is a nominal data. Every unit can be and can only be grouped in one category. For example, single, married, separated, divorced and widowed conclude all marital statuses and each person can only be grouped in one category. You can’t be single and married at the same time!
Got it! Go to the formula.
