Visitor arrivals in package tours increased by 10.2% year-on-year to 766,971 in April 2013. The average occupancy rate of hotels and guesthouses stood at 80.5%, with 897,340 guests and an average length of stay of 1.3 nights.

A total of 1,371,000 out-patient consultations and 430,000 emergency treatments were carried out in 2012. Number of in-patients totalled 48,000. A total of 3,404,000 medical consultations were provided by primary health care services.

In April 2013, total value of merchandise export (MOP724 million) and merchandise import (MOP6.70 billion) grew by 13% and 18% respectively year-on-year, with the merchandise trade deficit totalling MOP5.97 billion.

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the first quarter of 2013 expanded by 10.8% year-on-year in real terms, which was fuelled by increase in exports of services, private consumption expenditure and investment.

A total of 230 MICE events were held in the first quarter of 2013, with 203,000 participants and attendees.

In March 2013, the average earnings of full-time employees were MOP7,890 for the Manufacturing sector, MOP24,530 for the Electricity, Gas & Water Supply sector, MOP12,050 for Hotels & Restaurants, MOP21,560 for the Insurance sector and MOP13,250 for Financial Intermediation Activities.

The unemployment rate for February-April 2013 was 1.9% and the underemployment rate stood at 0.8%.

Total land area measured 29.9 km² in 2012 and the population density stood at 19,000 per km². Water consumption reached 231 000 m³ per day; domestic garbage collected averaged 500 tonnes per day.

In the first quarter of 2013, total spending of visitors reached MOP14.5 billion and per-capita spending of visitors amounted to MOP2,046, up by 10% and 8% respectively year-on-year.

Visitor arrivals totalled 2,398,340 in April 2013, up by 0.7% year-on-year. The average length of stay of visitors was 1.0 day.
